8 PM-MIDNIGHT SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026

On Saturday, October 3, from 8 PM to midnight, we’ll be staying at the Taunton Conference Center, which is attached to an allegedly haunted hotel that is currently under construction, and transforming the evening into more of an immersive “paranormal experience.”

Inspired by an event we’re doing with our sponsors at the Symposium of Spirits, we’ll explore a variety of methods of spirit communication in an attempt to connect with my distant cousin, Lizzie Borden, as well as other women connected to my family’s history and bloodline, including Sarah Maria Cornell, Eliza Borden, and Aileen Wuornos. Could there be a family curse? Throughout the evening, we’ll explore that question while attempting to communicate with these spirits and, hopefully, find answers and offer a sense of post-mortem peace.

My goal isn’t to retraumatize or sensationalize these spirits, but rather to approach the experience ethically and thoughtfully, giving a voice to the women in my family line whose stories have often been shaped by tragedy, folklore, and popular culture.

Heidi Kemper will introduce the group to the concept of “soul retrieval,” and we’ll combine that approach with a variety of other paranormal techniques, which will be announced soon.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2026

  • 10 am-Noon. Evidence sharing debrief and informal breakfast gathering at a location to be announced.
